HARIDWAR AND RISHIKESH

Haridwar and Rishikesh..... I heard this place famous only for religious happenings n rituals. I never knew before visiting this place, that its a place more than what I heard. Like our other tours, this one too was an unplanned one.

One weekend, my Senior Rahul was going thr d newspaper.  His eyes went through a news from Rishikesh. He called me and asked, dude hw abt gng to Rishikesh today?? I told, just wait will google it and tell. While googling I found its interesting. Itz few hrs from Ambala. Finally we announced a notice ny1 interested. Finally we made a group of 4 and started our journey. On d way it was raining and was awesome.

We reached Haridwar by night 2000 hrs. We stayed in a hotel , explored a bit of Haridwar @ night. Woke up early @ 4 am and geared up for the day's program. Initially we visited the bank of Ganges that was flowing like a flooded river.

It was the monsoon season and water level was bit high than the regular level. It was an amazing seen out there, @ 5am many were taking a religious dip in Ganges, doing poojas & some lost in there own soul in the form of Yoga. The breeze was cool and pleasant.

After a short morning walk by the bank of Ganges we decided to go to a temple which required a small trek. We started our trek by 6.15 am. It was drizzling  and foggy. On our each step up, it was a thrilling sight  of the greenery around and amazing view of The Ganges.

After an approx trek for 45 min, we reached the top. As usual, a group of monkeys where waiting  around to snatch the fruits and eatables. We spend sometime inside the temple and decided to decent.

On our way to decent we had our breakfast and decided to proceed to Rishikesh. We took a share auto and reached Rishikesh. We hired a guide and took a sightseeing around Rishikesh and gained knowledge about its history. By that time its noon,  we had our lunch and started our journey to Haridwar  railway station.

On Dec 2012, my self and 2 other buddies decided to do a adventure trip - rafting, hiking. For rafting we decided to do it in the major one- The Ganges.

Co-incidentally I met one of my colleague there who owns the same adventure company in which we planned to do rafting. We were a group of 5 , we 3 , 1 instructor and 2 supporting staff. It was an speechless experience which cannot be expressed in words , only felt through the rapids...
